Tree falls on two homes in Northeast Philly during severe storms

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Severe storms rolled through the Philadelphia region Monday night and packed quite a punch. Trees were knocked down, and many streets and basements were flooded. Some people were even forced out of their homes because of the damage.

In one instance, a tree fell onto two row homes on Jackson Street, near Levick Street, in the Tacony section of Northeast Philadelphia. The roots of the tree ripped a chunk of dirt and part of the sidewalk out of the ground, and water filled the gaping hole beneath.
