GROTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Groton police arrested a New London man Sunday who was wanted on outstanding extraditable warrants in Rhode Island and Virginia, according to police.
Authorities conducted a routine traffic stop around 10 p.m. on a silver Hyundai Elantra with a Rhode Island registration plate and an alleged broken tail lamp in the area of Long Hill Road and Route 12.

Police said when they checked the man’s records to confirm the license or identity based on the name provided, they allegedly could not find anything. A female passenger and the car’s registered owner allegedly gave police permission to search the vehicle for documents that would help identify the driver.
Authorities allegedly found a debit card belonging to 38-year-old Jeffrey Burgos of New London and determined it was the driver’s, confirming his identity, police said.
Eventually, police found that Burgos had two warrants out of Rhode Island, and one extraditable warrant out of Virginia held by the U.S. Marshals Service…
