The Hooray for Hopewell History celebration, a VA250 commemorative event, is from noon to 7 p.m. June 27 in the city’s historic downtown district. Additional festivities will take place at Appomattox Manor in the City Point Historic District.
The free event, for all ages, will honor the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States while showcasing the people, places and stories that connect Hopewell to the nation’s history.
