SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – You may think that running into the store for just a few minutes isn’t a big deal, but on a summer day those few minutes can turn deadly.
Storm Team 3 meteorologist Hannah Evans talked to Doug Struble, district chief of Chatham EMS, and he explained, “Children’s body temperature will raise 3 to 5 times faster than the normal adult. Same with pets. Pets have to pant to cool off and in, a hot environment like that, it’s just perpetuating the issue and they can also die from heat stroke.”
