Toledo residents voice concerns about Flock cameras ahead of council vote

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Toledo City Council is preparing to vote on spending thousands more dollars to keep Flock cameras in place as major cities in Ohio pull back — or consider pulling back — from the surveillance technology.

Toledo police and prosecutors say the Flock cameras are a key tool to help solve crimes, track vehicles linked to serious cases and hold people accountable, but others say this is another step toward a surveillance state.

“These cameras are not preventing new crimes from happening,” one Toledo resident said. “Watching people constantly is going to only add more stress, more fear, more anxiety.”…
