LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — A Lafayette woman, Chyvonne Blanchard, who lost her vision due to glaucoma in her 20s, is participating in an Intra-cortical Visual Prosthesis (ICVP) clinical study. The study aims to restore her vision, and she is documenting her experience online.
Despite her vision loss, Blanchard has continued to live her life, raise children and work with the visually impaired.
Blanchard, a research candidate, received an email from the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind seeking participants for an intra-cortical visual prosthesis project.
