Federal lawsuit against New York’s officer ID law looms over Washington’s mask ban

SPOKANE, Wash. – Washington state’s law requiring law enforcement to remove face coverings could be affected by Department of Justice lawsuits against similar laws in Philadelphia and New York state.

While the lawsuits do not target or mention Washington state’s law, the arguments made in lawsuits elsewhere would still be applicable to Washington state if they were deemed valid.
