PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Baltimore man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter by motor vehicle and fleeing and eluding in connection with a December 2025 police pursuit that ended in a fatal crash in Prince Frederick, prosecutors announced Monday.
Savon Quincy Samuel, 32, entered the guilty plea June 22 in Calvert County Circuit Court. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 29 before Judge Mark S. Chandlee. Samuel faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
The crash occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 12, 2025, after a Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop a Nissan sedan for a traffic violation along Route 4 in Prince Frederick. According to investigators, the driver failed to stop and fled from the deputy, who had activated emergency lights and sirens.
Authorities said Samuel continued southbound before entering the intersection of Route 4 and Stoakley Road at a high rate of speed and running a red light. The Nissan collided with a Honda sedan driven by Servon Gatewood, 58, of Lusby, and also struck a Kia SUV…
