Single mom narrowly escapes Chickamauga home with 2 children as storm topples tree Monday

CHICKAMAUGA, Ga. — Strong winds from Monday evening’s storms caused several trees to fall, causing damage to some homes in Chattanooga and Chickamauga.

One of those homes belonged to a single mother in Georgia, who worries what the damage will mean for her family’s future.

On West 8th Street in Chickamauga, a large tree split in half Monday evening, damaging the roof and interior of the house.

Neighbors tell us the family made it out safely, despite the extensive destruction…
