Orange County School Board to discuss district budget during Tuesday work session

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orange County School Board is scheduled to hold a work session Tuesday afternoon to discuss the district’s budget amid concerns about losing millions of dollars due to declining student enrollment.

School Board member Stephanie Vanos said that about half of the district’s funding comes from local property taxes, while the other half comes from the state sales tax. The one mill property tax, which will be on the ballot for renewal this November, currently pays for 11% of the district’s budget.
