PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — One of the 13 companies sued over its work on the failed westbound Washington Bridge is no longer in the state’s crosshairs.
Lawyers for the state have asked all parties to agree to remove the defendant — Commonwealth Engineers & Consultants Inc. — from the case, according to a court filing.
“Based on discovery produced by defendants to date, which highlights the central role of other defendants in the conduct at issue, the state has decided to dismiss its claims against defendant Commonwealth without prejudice,” said Timothy Rondeau, a spokesperson for R.I.
