After years of construction, the new Hollywood Casino Aurora, a $360 million entertainment destination complete with a hotel and spa, is set to open its doors to the public on Wednesday.
Located off Interstate 88 and across the street from Chicago Premium Outlets, the casino will officially open to the public at 8:30 p.m., according to a news release from parent company PENN Entertainment. Ahead of the opening, the company shuttered its old riverboat casino that had operated in downtown Aurora since the 1990s.
The new land-based property features 1,200 gaming positions and a sportsbook as well as an outdoor entertainment area, full-service spa, bars and restaurants and a 12,000-square-foot event center.
Visitors will be able to choose from a range of cuisines, including Sorella by Giada, an Italian-California fusion restaurant in partnership with celebrity chef and entrepreneur Giada De Laurentiis, featuring indoor and outdoor dining, a contemporary bar and options for private dining…
