PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Check your change next time you go to the store, you may just get one of the 250,000 limited edition Semi-quincentennial 2026 “Declaration of Independence” quarters!
The limited quarters feature a special “July 4th” privy mark, which celebrates America’s 250th anniversary.
The unique quarters, which don’t have a “mint mark,” will be randomly put into circulation, the U.S. Mint says. That means anyone can have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get a piece of history when they pay for something in cash.
“This is more than a coin; it’s a defining moment in our nation’s story,” said Mint Director Paul Hollis. “We hope Americans enjoy the search for these iconic quarters as they’re meant to be shared, saved, and remembered as part of this historic anniversary.”…
