CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A kayak that washed up ashore near the Hardware River in Scottsville has prompted a search of that body and the James River, the Fluvanna County Fire Department announced on social media late Tuesday night.
According to the FCFD, a green kayak was located near the 1900 block of Hardware Rd. with evidence that suggested the kayak had been in use that day. Deflated inner tubes were also found near the 1700 block of Hardware Rd.
FCFD, along with Water Rescue Teams, Scottsville Volunteer Fire Department, Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, and the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office initiated a search of both the Hardware and James Rivers…
