NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Nashville is putting $4.5 million toward a program that provides legal help to low-income renters facing eviction.
The Eviction Right to Counsel program is designed to support renters in court, where many face landlords’ attorneys without a lawyer of their own.
More than 1,200 Nashville families come to court every month facing possible eviction. The program provides free services to low-income families and tries to balance eviction hearings by giving renters access to legal support.
