SYLVANIA, Ohio — Sylvania Schools officials say the district has already reduced spending by more than $2.2 million and avoided nearly $10 million in health care costs over the past two years, but administrators are warning that significantly larger cuts may be necessary if additional operating revenue is not secured by 2027.
The financial update was shared with families and community members following a recent Board of Education meeting on June 8, where district leaders discussed ongoing cost-saving efforts and the potential impact of future budget reductions.
Assistant Superintendent Tim Zieroff told board members the district has worked to control expenses through staff attrition, administrative restructuring and budget reductions while continuing to provide educational opportunities “beyond Ohio’s minimum requirements.”…
