SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Spokane County leaders said the Upriver fire was mostly under control as recovery work continued for people affected by the blaze.
Deputy Director of Emergency Management Chandra Fox told county commissioners the fire was 85% contained. She said the incident management team left on Sunday and turned command over to a Washington Department of Natural Resources Type 4 team, with Fire District 9 still closely involved.
Fox said the fire was moving along its expected path and emergency officials had little left to do on the active response side. She said the county assessor’s office had a list of damaged homes and was reaching out to those property owners as recovery moved ahead…
