MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WTVM) – A Tuskegee care facility has agreed to repay $300,000 to the Alabama Medicaid Agency after an investigation found contracted services were not routinely provided to residents, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced.
The settlement was part of the 2026 National Healthcare Fraud Takedown, a law enforcement action initiated and coordinated by the U.S. Department of Justice to target fraud in government-funded health care programs.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama reached the settlement June 18, 2026, with Alfonza Smith, 72, of Smiths Station.
