WATERLOO, Ind. (WPTA) – Kristina Greig has lived at Knoll Creek apartments since 2019. She said that in just one night, almost everything she and her 10-year-old daughter, Charlie, owned turned to ash.
“I heard ‘bap bap bap’ on my door, and why would anyone be knocking on the door?” she said. “So, I go to answer the door, and there’s a cop there. He’s freaking out, ‘The roof’s on fire, you need to evacuate.’”
Greig said in the meantime, she’s been able to stay in a friend’s basement. That’s where she celebrated Charlie’s 10th birthday…
