Daphne doubles mosquito spraying after residents report swarms

DAPHNE, Ala. (WALA) – Residents in Daphne say swarms of mosquitoes showed up almost overnight after weeks of heavy rain, and city leaders say they are doubling spraying efforts in response.

At Village Point Park Preserve, several people out walking in the park turned around after barely making it past the entrance.

One Daphne resident said the mosquitoes were immediate. “Well when I walked out into that first trail there were 20 mosquitoes that immediately swarmed me. I don’t know if it’s because of all the rain we had last week,” he said…
