Mercy Chefs to feed nearly 3k students in Hampton Roads with Backpack Build

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The local disaster relief non-profit Mercy Chefs is feeding the 757 this summer. The Backpack Build is part of its Summer Feeding Initiative.

The non-profit is known for serving chef-prepared meals to people in disaster zones around the world.

Mercy Chefs volunteers are packing 2,800 backpacks that will go to children and families throughout the area during the summer months.
