St. Landry Parish issues voluntary evacuation notice for Lebeau area

LEBEAU, La. (KLFY) — The St. Landry Parish Government is asking some in the Lebeau area to evacuate due to expected flooding

Residents who live along La. 71 from U.S. 190 north to La. 10 are asked to voluntarily evacuate at this time.

Residents are encouraged to begin making arrangements now and take essential items including:

  • Medications
  • Important documents
  • Clothing and personal necessities
  • Supplies for family members and pets

Residents needing shelter assistance may report to the Yambilee Building, 1939 W. Landry Street in Opelousas. Officials said the American Red Cross is controlling and operating shelter operations. Residents seeking shelter must bring a valid photo ID…
