Maple Street Bridge opens to foot and bike traffic before car reopening

SPOKANE, Wash. — Mayor Lisa Brown and the City of Spokane are welcoming residents to bike, walk, and roll across the newly repaired Maple Street Bridge before cars return Thursday night.

“The Maple Street Bridge carries thousands of Spokanites to work, school, and their homes every day,” Mayor Brown said. “Before it returns to its everyday role, we wanted to create a moment for the community to come together and see the bridge from a new perspective.”

Cyclists and pedestrians can access the bridge from the north at W. Dean Ave. and from the south at W. 2nd Ave. and W. Pacific Ave. The on-ramp at Riverside on the east side will be closed during the event…
