Jay’s Barbershop plans 2nd haircut marathon for suicide awareness

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) – Coming up July 18th and 19th is the 24-Hour Haircutting Marathon at Jay’s Barbershop at 235 Buffalo Street in Hamburg. The event benefits the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Erie County. It’s the 2nd year of the marathon, which was created by barber Jason Lape after a customer lost their life last year. The event will feature food trucks, carnival games, a 50/50 raffle, and of course, around the clock haircuts.

Erie County is taking applications from local non-profits for Highmark Stadium suite tickets. Every charity will be entered into a lottery, with two being selected for each game. Applications are due July 24th.
