COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – A second shooter has been sentenced to life in prison in the 2017 killing of 17-year-old Destiny Nelson.
Travonne Washington pleaded guilty Wednesday to Nelson’s murder, and Judge Bobby Peters sentenced him to life in prison for malice murder, according to the district attorney’s office.
Investigators said Nelson, a high school honor student, was hit by multiple rounds when two teenagers fired through a closed door at Bull Creek Apartments in January 2017. Prosecutors said the gunmen went to the wrong door and Nelson was a mistaken target…
