EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Two Evansville men are facing felony charges after police say one of them pistol-whipped a man and both pointed guns during a confrontation early Thursday.
According to an Evansville Police Department affidavit, officers were called around 12:57 a.m. June 25 to the 400 block of Southeast First Street, where a man reported he had been struck in the face with a handgun. Police said he had visible injuries consistent with being hit with a blunt object.
Investigators say the incident stemmed from an earlier dispute involving the victim. Police say the group had been to a home on Pollack Avenue earlier in the night, then returned to Southeast First Street. The affidavit alleges 44-year-old Verdale Fox showed up, pulled a victim from a vehicle, assaulted them and demanded money.
