EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Investigators say a woman is facing felony charges after a fire was intentionally set behind a home on the city’s north side, leaving a person with burn injuries as he tried to put the flames out.
According to an affidavit filed in Vanderburgh Superior Court, the Evansville Fire Department responded around 9 a.m. May 17 to a fire involving a shed and combustible debris at a property in the 1100 block of North Garvin Street. Fire crews extinguished the flames and a fire investigator was called to determine the cause.
Investigators said the fire started near the northwest corner of the outside of the shed. The affidavit states accidental and natural causes were ruled out, and the investigator determined the most likely cause was a “human act.”…
