While elected officials are used to making tough decisions, the Richardson leadership faced a question of good taste to make the final call for the Network of Community Ministries‘ 2026 Fork-Off fundraiser on Saturday, April 25.
Taking place for the first time at UT Dallas’ Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center, Network Board Chair Lindsay Turman, Network President/CEO Celeste Sneeze, Network Development Director Jillian Netherland and 2026 Fork-Off Honorary Co-Chairs Mauri and Bryan Marsh presented Siam Rahman‘s Chameli Restaurant as the judge’s pick of the night. On the other hand, Samuel Smith‘s Tejano Brothers New Texas took home the prize as the People’s Choice. Here’s a report from the field:
This year’s Network Fork-Off to Fight Hunger brought out the community including Richardson leadership in support of Network of Community Ministries. Powerhouse couple Mauri and Bryan Marsh were honorary co-chairs and were honored with a record turn-out for the event.
Fork-Off to Fight Hunger took place at Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center at UT Dallas, a hidden gem of a venue. As always, restaurants and establishments competed for the Golden Fork that was presented to Richardson’s Chameli Restaurant that serves authentic Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine. Judges for the Golden Fork competition were Alika Omar and Richardson Mayor Amir Omar, President and CEO of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce Kim Quirk and Richardson City Council Member Jennifer Justice. Guests were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite and Tejano Brothers took the People’s Choice honor. There was no shortage of great food and drink as 18 establishments brought their best offerings.
“Network’s Annual Fork-Off is more than just a fun gathering. It’s an opportunity to come together and make a meaningful difference for our neighbors,” said Mauri…
