Woman arrested on DWI suspicion after allegedly resisting arrest in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — Officers say they were forced to break a driver’s window to get her out of the vehicle for an arrest on Thursday, according to Burlington police.

At about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to suspicious activity on the 1100 block of East Webb Avenue.

At the scene, officers found Vanessa Tekesha Benjamin, 39, sitting in a vehicle that was parked on the sidewalk, facing in the opposite direction of traffic.
