Oak Ridge church hosts free coffeehouse music event

Grace Lutheran Church of Oak Ridge presents its third Coffeehouse, a fun celebration of live music and gourmet coffee, Friday, June 26, 6-8 p.m.

The event is open to everyone, so please bring a friend and the kids. Free nursery care and events for children and youth are available and will be monitored by the nursery attendants and volunteers, while adults enjoy a variety of music groups and styles. Gourmet coffees and snacks will be provided. Entertainment will be presented by the following:

  • New Creation, the praise team of Grace Lutheran Church. Led by Director of Music Slade Trammel, this team of musicians will present both praise music and a few secular sing-a-longs. Musicians include Debra Stewart, Betty Dagley, Phil Stumbo, Laura Kile, Paul and Donna Gurecki on vocals and Pastor Rosy Rivera on guitar and vocals, Anthony Stewart on bass and Robert Stewart on drums.
  • The Basin Street Saints, a Dixieland band. There are six performers in this group – Oone trumpet, one trombone, one flute, one banjo and one percussion. Led by members Barbie and Jeff Schmidt.
  • VDC Babe Chics & Mike is a performance group from the Tennessee Via de Cristo’s recent retreat. Musicians are led by Maureen Smith and include Maureen Smith, Amy Pitts, Rosy Rivera and Mike Radochonski.
  • David Ensley, organist, singer and composer. He shares music on his dulcimer. He also serves as Grace Lutheran’s organist.
  • GenX, a small performance group who does several shows a year at a variety of venues. It features vocalist Debra Stewart and her husband Robert playing keyboard and guitar.

Grace provides two Sunday services – a contemporary service at 9 a.m. and a traditional service at 11:15 a.m. During the school year, Sunday School is offered for all ages at 10 a.m. On fifth Sundays one 10 a.m. service is offered…
