The thermometer may read in the mid-90s, but by this weekend, stepping outside in much of Alabama could feel more like walking into a 100-degree sauna.
The National Weather Service forecasts afternoon heat index values above 100 degrees across central Alabama through early next week, with some communities expected to experience “feels like” temperatures as high as 109 degrees.
