(WJAR) — Long before Broadway became the entertainment capital of America, a boy born in Providence helped define what American theater and music could become.
More than a century later, the songs of George M. Cohan are still striking a chord.
Historian-musicians Benjamin Sears and Bradford Conner recently performed Cohan’s music at the Rhode Island Historical Society as part of events commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.
