After 25 years, Juanita’s Mexican Restaurant near Houston Heights closes

A longtime Houston Tex-Mex staple has served its last meal. After nearly 26 years in business, Juanita’s Mexican Restaurant at 2728 W. T. C. Jester Blvd. has permanently closed. The owners shared the news on social media Wednesday, catching many customers by surprise with no prior announcement.

“Since opening in 2000, it has been our honor to share meals, celebrate milestones, and create memories with generations of families who welcomed us into their lives. We are deeply grateful to our loyal guests, dedicated employees, vendors, friends, and neighbors who supported us throughout the years. Your kindness, trust, and friendship made this journey possible,” the social media announcement read.

“As we say goodbye, we want to thank every person who walked through our doors, celebrated with us, ordered takeout for family dinners, or simply stopped by for a meal. The memories we created together will always be cherished.”

Juanita’s did not say why it’s closing, but did clarify this only applies to the T. C. Jester Boulevard location, which has operated independently for many years…
