Boaters rescued on Lake Erie after hitting breakwall

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Cleveland first responders rescued several boaters who had hit a breakwall while out on Lake Erie about midnight on Friday, June 26.

The U.S. Coast Guard found the boat taking on water near Burke Lakefront Airport, according to a FOX 8 News crew that was at the scene.

Rescuers, also including Cleveland firefighters, EMS and police, brought them on land at the East 9th Street pier.

Cleveland EMS workers examined each for injury, but none were transported to the hospital.
