EPA grants $500K for environmental assessments to prep Fort Wayne sites for redevelopment

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A grant from the Environmental Protection Agency will help city officials plan for the future of multiple industrial sites around Fort Wayne.

The EPA announced Wednesday that Fort Wayne was the recipient of a $500,000 Brownfields grant. The city’s Community Development Division plans to use the money to conduct assessments and map out the cleanup process for former commercial and industrial sites that will eventually be redeveloped, city officials said Thursday.
