CLEMSON — A former Clemson slugger will get a shot to show what he can do in the Major Leagues.
Cooper Ingle, who played for the Tigers from 2021-’23, is being called up by the Cleveland Guardians. Playing for the Guardians’ AAA affiliate, the Columbus Clippers, Ingle is having a stellar season in the Independent League.
The catcher is batting .284 in 176 at-bats in 51 games this season. He has 50 hits thus far, while hitting 12 home runs and driving in 41 runs. He has also scored 33 times and has an OPS of .967…
