Extreme heat coming: These utility companies are pausing some service disconnections Middle Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two Middle Tennessee utilities are pausing service disconnections due to extreme heat moving into the region.

Nashville Electric Service said that it will temporarily stop scheduled disconnections if the heat index reaches 105 degrees or higher, based on temperature readings at Nashville International Airport.

The heat index is what it feels like outside, not the actual air temperature…
