Essex County’s SZA, Donald Payne Sr. and Dr. John McMullen Named to New Jersey Hall of Fame Class of 2026

Essex County is well represented in the New Jersey Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026.

This year’s inductees include Maplewood-raised Grammy Award-winning artist SZA, Newark native Donald Payne Sr., the late congressman who became New Jersey’s first African American elected to Congress, and Montclair High School graduate Dr. John J. McMullen, the former owner of the New Jersey Devils and Houston Astros.
