LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – update 10:39 p.m. Thankfully, the line of thunderstorms moving across much of the area has weakened quite a bit. It produced an 85mph gust in Plainview and prompted a destructive severe thunderstorm warning. That warning has expired. Gusts along the weakening line may now be up to 50mph.
Near Slaton, our Adam Young checked out the area and did not find any significant damage. We will get a better look after sunrise. A gust of 110mph was measured at the Tech Mesonet site near Slaton, which is on the eastern side of town…
