PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Portland Parks & Recreation kicked off the city’s summer Free Lunch + Play program with a celebration at a southeast Portland park on Thursday.
The event was held at Parklane Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for kids 18 and under.
More than half of Portland’s school-age children qualify for free or reduced-price meals during the school year. And to bridge the summer months, Free Lunch + Play feeds kids meals along with fun activities trained staff and community partners, which include sports, games, arts, crafts, music, and more…
