Man missing since June 16 found dead in Greensboro; homicide suspected

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A man who was reported missing in Guilford County was found dead on Thursday and police are investigating his death as a homicide, according to the Greensboro Police

At around 1 p.m. on Thursday, officers came to the 1400 block of Dorsey Street to assist the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office with a report of suspicious activity.

At the scene, investigators found a dead person who was later identified as 39-year-old Douglas Keith Petty.

Petty had last been seen on June 16 at around 11 a.m., leaving the Oakdale Mill Road area, heading toward Liberty, according to the GCSO.
