Take a stroll through High Street, Carlisle’s road to American history

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) — Carlisle’s High Street was one of the United States’ first highways.

“It’s always been an intersection of people and places and ideas and travel,” said Cara Curtis, with the Cumberland County Historical Society. “Goods and people have always been coming through Carlisle, so that carries through to today, and that makes us an interesting place to be.”
