The El Paso Police Department isn’t exactly hiring but they are looking for applicants for the police academy and they’ll pay you to go.
Applicants who successfully complete the program, of course, can then get hired by the city of El Paso. There are several requirements though and the course itself is a long one, taking almost 9 months from start to finish. While enrolled, future coppers earn about $24 an hour.
The deadline to enroll in the El Paso Police Academy is August 25th and there are 2 programs, the one that you get paid for taking and a non – paying “Citizen Police Academy” that lasts several weeks.
Mind you, it’s not like in the movies. I know cops and there’s not an adrenaline rush car chase every 5 minutes, hotties don’t offer “favors” to get out of tickets and you don’t get to shoot people every day…
