1.5 tons of fireworks found in vacant St. Louis home

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis Metropolitan Police say they recovered more than 3,000 pounds of fireworks from a vacant home in north St. Louis.

Officers spent Thursday morning removing box after box of fireworks from the home on Terry Ave., forming a human conveyor belt to load the explosives into a trailer.

“Detectives recovered more than 3,000 pounds of fireworks. Most of these being commercial grade from this home,” said St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Mitch McCoy. “The fireworks were stacked ceiling to floor, filling every room of the house.”…
