Dozens of rescue calls came in overnight Thursday into Friday as some drivers became stalled on flooded roadways in Wichita and the surrounding area after storms pounded the region.
According to a social media post from the Wichita Fire Department, the agency was dispatched to over 100 water-related calls between 10 p.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. on Friday. Over 80 of those calls, the department said, were related to vehicles in floodwaters.
