SPOKANE, Wash. – Julien B. Hart, 24, pleaded guilty in Spokane County Superior Court Friday to vehicular homicide, following a DUI crash in March 2025 which resulted in the death of his passenger.
The incident occurred in Spokane Valley, at the intersection of South Galway Lane and South Rotchford Drive. According to court documents, Hart was driving at nearly twice the speed limit in the middle of the roadway. After narrowly avoiding a collision with an oncoming driver, Hart’s vehicle reportedly hit a curb and rolled into a fence. Following the crash, the passenger, identified as 21-year-old Caden Richardson, was reportedly trapped in the car and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Richardson’s family spoke during Friday’s hearing, explaining that Hart was best friends with Caden and was considered a member of their family. They expressed their forgiveness of Hart and asked the court not to impose any additional jail time…
