PORTAGE, MI — After 66 years with no major overhaul, the city of Portage has a new zoning ordinance — although not everybody’s happy about it.
The new ordinance rezones large swaths of the city to allow more diverse housing types as officials say the city needs to accommodate denser housing and prioritize affordability.
