DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Families across the Wiregrass are beginning to receive Alabama SUN Bucks letters and SUN Bucks cards in the mail as the state’s Summer EBT program rolls out for 2026.
Some families reported receiving both the notification letter and the SUN Bucks card on the same day, as of Friday June 26, with each arriving in separate plain envelopes with no return address. Noting: No outside identification will tell the recipient it’s SUN Bucks related.
The letters notify eligible families that their child has been automatically enrolled in the Alabama SUN Bucks program. The program provides a one-time benefit of $120 per eligible child to help families purchase groceries while school is out for the summer…
