Unloaded gun found in daycare child’s backpack

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — Earlier this month, police responded to Pflugerville Community Church Preschool when a teacher found a gun in a student’s backpack, the police department said in an email.

Police said the gun was not loaded and no other children saw the firearm. No one got hurt. Investigators determined a parent had used the backpack the day before and “inadvertently” left the gun in there.

“The church declined to pursue charges and officers made a referral to [Child Protective Services],” the police department said…
