NEWBERRY, Fla. (WCJB) – A local Hispanic church spent Saturday morning preparing for its annual multicultural festival, bringing different nationalities and traditions to Newberry and the surrounding areas.
IPUL Pentecostal Church hosted the community event as a fundraiser to help the congregation eventually secure its own church building. Organizers set up a garage sale and offered food from different cuisines, hoping to share cultural experiences with attendees and show what a Hispanic church presence looks like in the community.
“The mission behind this is we raise funds in order to eventually have our own congregation or place of worship,” said Jonathan Orrego, pastor at IPUL Newberry Church. “And we do this also to help out our youth go to events and different things like that.”…
